Hallo zusammen,
nachdem ich eher auf einen offiziellen Lösungsansatz stehe als selbstgezimmerte Lösungen mit Tesa, anderen Armbändern oder sogar öffnen der Uhr und löten an der Elektronik stehe, habe ich eine Anfrage an Garmin geschickt.
Die Antwort (haben aber meines Wissens schon einige erfolglos ausprobiert?) - ich kann es erst probieren, wenn ich wieder zu Hause bin, daher dieser Stand als erste Info:

I am sorry to hear your Garmin unit is not functioning correctly.
As you may know already it is not possible to adjust the volume on your
unit. To help this issue I recommend updating the unit's operating
software and also performing a master reset on the device. I have
provided some steps below to help you...
Please can you try the following with the unit switched off.
Press and hold the mode button whilst powering up the unit.
You will see a message "do you really want to erase all user data"
select yes.
Once you have done this, please go to the following link
Garmin | Software
and download the latest software for your unit, even if you have this
already.
Once you have done this leave the unit with a clear view of the sky to
update a fresh almanac. Please be patient during this update.

the unit to come back to us here to be replaced.
