Mibospace Announcement Thread

1

The Mibo fancrew over here is very happy, that Pavel, boss and CEO of Mibo has registered in our forum.
Pavel's username is Mibospace.

Pavel has announced that he wants to give informations and will answer questions. I think that I am not the only one to be glad on these first hand informations directly from the manufacturer! A wonderfull Idea!

Pavel only speaks English. That is why it might be not so good for him to post in the different scooter threads in this forum.
It might be better if Mibo and Pavel will get their own thread, this Mibospace Announcement Thread.

All communication in her should be in German and English. Every German posting here should be translated into English and vice versa. The users that speak both languages well are pleased to translate their own postings. Other users are pleased to translate the remaining postings.

We should keep in mind that Pavel has a lot of things to do. I think that it is a wonderfull idea that he joins us here!

Here I collect the older postings concerning Mibospace. You need not to search for them.

Hi, my name is Pavel, I am MIBO CEO. I am very sorry that my ability to write in German is so schlecht.
I would like to react to couple of things:
1. We changed specification of brakes from Deore to Acera. But only for Czech market. This change does not affect our export activities.
2. Regarding MIBO DIDIN, we made first 30 pcs to test, if market is ready for quality scooters for children. I did not decided yet, if we will continue with production to export markets with DIDIN.
For Mibo Didin, plaese look here:
Um den Mibo Didin geht es hier:

A very warm welcome to you in our forum. Over here there are a lot of (critical) Mibo-lovers who are already waiting for you. This is why you are very welcome. It's not a problem that you speak English. We will love to translate for you.

You should open up your specific Mibo CEO anouncment thread. I think, this would be very much appreciated.

Myself, I own 5 Mibos and have just ordered number 6. This might be a day production?

Thank you for nice welcome. I spent last to 2 days to translate your comments in MIBO threads. It was really helpful, even the critics makes me realise, how different Czech and German markets are, thank you for opening my eyes, changes will come, but it take some time.

Thank you very much, Pavel! Be welcome. How about opening up your own Mibospace Announcement Thread? Your fans will spread the information you give in the Mibospace thread into the threads of the specific scooters (Master, Geroy, Rival...) and translate it into German.
Vielen Dank, Pavel!
It seems like very nice idea, since I dont know all the rules on this forum. Can you please make this thread for me? I am very greatfull for your translations, thank you for your efford. Now I did not catch everything in your comments, is there anything I can help you with regarding Mastr?

Oh, this is some kind of Moses situation, the unexpected boss is showing up! I am a litte bit confused now. I will think it over and ask questions in the Mibosoace thread. And there are questions and there are wishes!

I would like to ask some questions:
Einige Fragen, die ich gerne gestellt hätte:

Almost all Mibos come with 100mm hubs.
Other Czech scooter makers are going away from 100mm to a smaller size.
Does Mibo also intend to go away from 100mm?

Mibo Mastr 16x12 has disappeared from Mibo homepage. But it is still available at Kolob.
This might be a custom build.
Are there plans to renewal production of Mastr 16x12?

Mibo Royal does come with Ergotec folding handlebar. Are there plans to use that or some other folding handlebar on Mibo Master?

May I ask (oh yes, I know, this is a secret) what plans for new products are in the pipe?

I don't want to exclude anybody, so I am just asking: Do we really need English AND German translations? I bet English would be easily understood by all, but perhaps I am just wrong with that. In the current form I find myself re-reading the same paragraph just in a different language, which happens to be quite irritating. So if we keep the translation approach, may I suggest we label or format them differently for better distinction, like so (e.g.):

5
Accept your proposal.

Dein Vorschlag ist angenommen.

Let me agree, I suppose, german translations aren't necessary, most of us will understand basic english.

Personaly, I'm looking for an international newsgroup, to interact with foreign nations, by the way I could
improve my basic english.

Conclusion, let's handle these feed in english.

So if we keep the translation approach, may I suggest we label or format them differently for better distinction, like so (e.g.):

That was that I have agreed. Different formatting of translation.

This is a German speaking forum. Let's speak German, too. There won't be that much posts.
We do not want to exclude anyone. It is not taken for granted that anyone can speak English.

And please, keep on-topic.

Good evening, just came back from my afternoon kick. Here are the answers:

1. Hubs. We dont plan to go to 65mm or 75mm hubs for many reasons. There are bilions dollars spent in past decades on bike market to develop best parts and amazing variety. We honor that our customers wants to customize our unperfect scooters, I dont want to limit them by technology, which is very unperfect. From our point of view this dictates customers, where to buy spare parts, limit their options. Lastly, Breta Michalek invented this 65mm hub with Remerx, but he drop the idea. The wheel is simle not that tough. I admit I see some advantage to have 65mm hub in the back wheel, but for myself it is pointless to have it in front wheel.

2. 16/12. We did not know, how succesfull 16/16 build will be. Well it turned, that this is best model we made in years for known reasons. So after first 4 months when we have had both models in our offer, I pull out 16/12 Mastr and Crazy. However, I sense there is still demand for this tretrollers, so we offered 16/12 to our business partners, such as Kolobezky pro dospele and in Germany Flow Berlin, which has got exclusivity for German market. From MIBO if there is demand for this tretrollers in future, it is very easy to start production again.

3. Handlebars. Breta Michalek is finishing his own folding handlebars. It is very long process, but I believe there will be available next year in our folding models. Ergotecs are great handlebars, but they cost a lot. We are in process to decide, if Ergotecs stays on Royals or not. Lets face it, Royal is so big even when folded, that no-one will carry it by tram for example. The advantage of Royal is, that you can put it into car trunk, and for that you propably dont need ergotecs.

4. New products. Actually I was hoping, that you will tell me, what new products will be like :) We made A LOT of mistakes in past as part of learning process. This year we stabilizing everything, such as new web pages, put specs together to make sense etc. From my point of view, engineering is done, we work hard to improve quality of our tretrollers. I am very happy with frames now, but we have a lot to do with parts /someone here mentioned handlebars for example/, I personally want to put design to our frames, it is still raw frames, without graphics, as you can see on bikes for example. So for next year we will focus on one thing only: Geroy. We commited to make hammer, best engineered scooter on 26/20 without compromise. And this will be exlusively for German market. At this stage, we testing 10 possible handlebars, even Magura brakes /thanks Martina for inspiration/, we will made footboard longer for best possible geometry etc.

Good evening, just came back from my afternoon kick. Here are the answers:
Guten Abend, ich kam gerade von meinem Nachmittagsausflug zurück. Hier sind die Antworten:

1. Hubs. We dont plan to go to 65mm or 75mm hubs for many reasons. There are bilions dollars spent in past decades on bike market to develop best parts and amazing variety. We honor that our customers wants to customize our unperfect scooters, I dont want to limit them by technology, which is very unperfect. The wheel is simle not that tough. I admit I see some advantage to have 65mm hub in the back wheel, but for myself it is pointless to have it in front wheel.

1. Naben.

3. Lenker.

At this stage, we testing 10 possible handlebars, even Magura brakes /thanks Martina for inspiration/, we will made footboard longer for best possible geometry etc.

4. Neue Produkte.

Ok, on Products:

Longer Footboard on Geroy is very desirable. I have great problems to deal with a carrier for big 1,5l bottles. I do not find a place where to mount a bottle carrier like XLC German King Kong XLC : x-cellent Components. I always have contact to the bottle with knees or upper leg. I can mount this carrier using hose clamps almost everywhere but I always have unwanted contact.
On Kostka Tour this is no problem. The angle of the main tube is a little different and the board is a bit longer.

Also I am not happy with the joint between the 2 tubes. Now the joint is only a sheet, before it was a tube. Have you ever tried to carry your Geroy upstairs? You will grab the frame under the joint and the joint is like a knife to your hands. 2013 version had a tube, this was perfect.

Never ending story is luggage carrying. Look at your fork. It has a borehole to mount a splashguard. It should have a second borehole just on top/ over the axis to mount a carrier! This is very important to me! This would be no problem in production!
Rider should be able to mount a carrier like this with no problem: Gebrüder Pletscher AG, Druckgusswerk

Eyelets for low rider carriers are also missing, but this is not of the same importance.

Thank you for your comments. The problem with lagguage carrier is, that there are so many different types. What suits you, is not good for other brands. Same with bottle holder. There are people prefering two bottle holder, others prefere one big holder.

Anyway I have to confess, I did not carry Geroy to stairs ever. I am still learning, what we need to think off in development :) ) Bottom line, I will take a look to these bowden joints, thank you.

What we do during winter time is customization upon our customer needs. So it cost something, but we can customize fork for you to your type of lagguage carrier.

Thank you for your comments. The problem with lagguage carrier is, that there are so many different types. What suits you, is not good for other brands.
Sorry, I do not believe that. I only need this borehole on top or in front beside the axis. With that hole I can assemble most bicycle carriers to the Geroy. I have already made some experiments.

Even if I was wrong, you could drill that hole so that it will be in correct position for some carriers. And than tell your custumers, for which carriers the hole is good. I would have no problem to get me a carrier you have tested and for which the holes are good.

Please look at so many bikes with fixed forks that all come with the carrier hole. The carriers are inteded to be moved a little bit around to find their hole. This is as they will be mounted on very different bicycles.

You want to read wishlists from german tretroller fanatics? Are you sure? Well, prepare yourself for pages and pages to scroll through! ;) So here are mine:

1. Wish #1 might be somewhat visionary (hopefully not totally utopian), because it seems impossible to built for a reasonable prize with currently available technology: Light-weight, easily foldable scooter for city-commute with public transport – stable, decent size and geometry, 12"+ tires (filled with helium?). I bet, there is and will be a huge market for a scooter like this out there, but only very few people know that yet. When it comes to folding scooters, I don't know any currently available model of any brand, that would match these criteria.

2. I like the idea of doing something about the design. However, I like my stuff to be designed as minimalistic as reasonably possible – not only but especially on a scooter, which is a very minimalistic concept in itself. That is, design is form, is frame, is its geometry in this case. So I do not think, design should be regarded as decoration (only).
Of all the Mibo scooters, I like the design of the Rival and the all new (and market-experimental) Didin best – probably due to their flat board. a) Is the Didin a glimpse into a new design era, so other models will be re-designed accordingly? b) Or do the bent boards mainly have engineering reasons? (It is, however, a very distinctive design feature that helps to identify the Mibo scooters as such.)

3. Now the Didin is specially designed for small kids – not grown ones like I am. a) If machine-translations were correct, it is still strong enough for adults to ride as well. b) But if the footboard is really only 35cm short(?), this would be a challenge of its own, right? I am just guessing by comparing to the ~40cm footboard length of my K6 here, which, on the other side, is even shorter in total length (110cm vs the 115cm of the Didin, if measurements are correct).

4. Regarding the Rival versions, Plain vs Full: a) Do they share the same frame? Pictures of the black Plain suggest otherwise, with a more closed board and an added triangular, reinforcing board-to-necktube-part on the Plain. On the other hand, in the yellow modell pictured, this cannot be seen, but also rear brake mounts are missing there. I hope this are just some old pictures, not relevant and helpful to the cause of information –please clarify! Which leads me directly to the next point:

5. I am not the only one here who wishes that manufactures and especially dealers would pay more attention to correct presentation – that is in pictures and texts – of their (newest) products. Czech dealers are usually more up-to-date, while one usually cannot tell, if the standard German dealer is just to f!**ing lazy to update, or to uninformed, or sells (really!) old stuff (sometimes not even last years' modells), or just doesn't give a !*$§%, or – for good measure – all of them. Which, again, brings my rant to another turn:

6. There is only thing you could be certain about when it comes to (Czech brands' scooters at) German dealers: For doing less, they charge more than their Czech competitors. Now there still does exist some kind of a market barrier due do language, freight costs and currency conversion. However, these barriers are hopefully crumbling down, with Czech dealers already doing their best to service happy customers abroad.
As a customer, my concern regarding this issue is mainly that manufactures – instead of creating real value for customers through innovative products and enforcing competition amongst their dealers – will try to rise new, artificial barriers, e.g. by granting exclusive distribution rights only for certain markets, in order to keep prices and profits up. The bike brand "Specialized" is such an extreme case, where dealers are legally bound to deliver this brand's products only within given country borders, which is, of course, totally nuts and anti-customer.
With different price levels between DE and CZ, and perhaps more different standard fittings for some models due to different customers' preferences in different markets to be seen(?), where will this lead? Take the pricing of the Royal at a German dealer: 675 Euro! It might be a very good scooter, even Mibos best at the moment (which I doubt), but this is just absurd! (Now, if it were a beautiful Pechr version, I would most likely think otherwise.)

7. Some people have requested and shown interest in frame or -fork-sets only. Any plans on offering them for a reasonable(!) price? Kostka offers them, so does K-Bike (if not sold out already) and there were announcements on the upcoming Kickbike Race Max 28 also to be available as frame only.

8. Just to add to #4: Will there be a new Rival (as update or addition to the model versions) based on the modified one we have seen in the Stunt-Video?

Sorry for the lengthy post, I could not make it any shorter.

It seems this is the place I wish for. Full of enthusiast, full of good discusions.

Regarding your questions:

1. What is wrong with Tiny model? Yes, weight, but if you want tough scooters and foldable, you have to count with weight.

2. We used flat board on DIDIN because of kids. They often stand in front of the footboard. I think for adults it is dangerous to have flat footboard with ground clearence 35-40mm.

3. There are several factors for city commuter. We prioritise excelent geometry, ehich means for adult to have foot at the back and enough place for kicking. Thats why I am not fan of shorter footboards.

4. Yes, full and Plain has got same frame

5. I dont want commnet our dealers in German, they doing their best I believe. It is mainly our fault we dont provide them with relevant materials such like these: 6. Actualy this is the best point. Please realise differences between our countries. Minimum hour rate in CZ is 2EUR per hour. In German you will soon have new standard 8.5EUR if I am correct. And this is minimum wage, not normal salary. If MIBO would give same conditions to German dealers regarding margins, there would be no dealers at Germany at all. I dont blame them they want to make decent money. They putting a lot of money and effort to scooters, keeping stocks, employees for service German customer is used to. If you buy scooter from czech dealer, how they will handle quarantee repairs /gladly we dont have any at all :) /? On your costs? Or they will pay shipping costs? Thats the question. But if you come to German dealer, he will replace scooter instantly /I hope :) /
Now, I totaly agree, different price levels are anti customer. But please realise, that czech customer is totaly different breed as well. It is not only specialized, take gopro, apple, strida, even the cars.
I actually like more and more idea of different dealers have special editions of MIBOs. Yes, we as manufacturer has to improve to inform customers about special editions, but think about it. We are the small company, 1500 scooters per year /yes, 50% grows this year/, we can not live from 3 models, because what is premium for czech customer, it is definitely not premium for german one. But czech customer will not pay 500EUR per high quality /at least not yet/ simly because we are much poorer nation that Germans etc. I am seriously thinking to make special Geroy on Maguras, better handlebars, better grips /thank to this forum :) /, but I can not threat our sales in Czech with Geroy 2014, which is lower price. same with colours, different specs, we are simply not big enough to have every model in every colour for everybody.

next point. Frames. It is very difficult to recognise customer, who knows enough to build scooter. There are lot of customer, who thinks it is very easy and simple, just pick any brakes, put it there...etc. And this is the pain with frames. We have very bad experience with this, customer bought frame and 35 emails later he blaimed us for bad products we sold him.

8. I dont think there is market for new Rival, lets face it, this market is dying due to small stunt scooters. Breta Krhut has one and only /actualy he has three of them or something :) )/.

Thanks for answering fast and briefly, except for #4, that you answered too briefly – so please do comment on this one more precisely!

ad 1) Nothing wrong with Tiny in itself, it sure is a good scooter. Its design just does not appeal to me. And when it comes to the mentioned criteria, you already answered it, at least for one part. Second is folding mechanism. Yes, this is very stable when closed and kicking. Yes, it is good enough for transporting in a car. But it's useless for frequent line changes in public transport, especially when you have to climb a lot of stairs, already carrying a rucksack of sometimes 8+ kg. It therefore has to be compact when folded, not unfolding itself and also light-weight. And I am a rather healthy, grown up male. Now think of petite women.

#4) Aha. That's exactly what I wanted to point out, but still: which of the many Rival frames currently pictured on mibo.cz one is it then?

ad 5) Well, I bet most German dealers command of Czech language is not much better than mine, and mine is unfortunately inexistent. So I am not quite sure what and why components are in question, but I bet, it is not only the quality but also a quantity of choice to select from – like in the automotive industry, which derives good margins from upgrading items and additional packages. I doubt that we will see anything remotely similar like this soon on scooters, mainly for cost reasons.

ad 6) I totally agree that different customer preferences should be adressed differently, especially if this differences correlate nicely with national markets, which might make it marketing-wise even easier. The only concern I was trying to express, is, that strict regulations could easily ruin dealers' flexibility to respond to customers requests. I hope we won't see things like this from Mibo, ever!
Different price levels are not per se anti-customer, if you have the choice to buy elsewhere. Currently, I am not the only one, who is not satisfied with German dealers involvement and competence. I just do not see, what they would do for me, what a Czech dealer could not. There are several posts by different people in different threads regarding this issue. The main reason for lower involvement could be, that German dealers usually operate this business as second or even third income source. Scooters are still not that common and widely requested and sold, as maybe elsewhere.

ad 7) I do understand this, yet there could be a solution: Why not sell them as "replacement parts" – although they might never need to be replaced –, guaranteed to fit and match with original/standard components used on the current or previous models. Or is to difficult from a manufacturing/engineering standpoint to keep tolerances within the necessary limits? I do not know about that, but reports in various threads about built quality of any scooter brand suggest that. On the other hand, components might also change within a given model and year. So the scooter built today might differ from the one built tomorrow, right?

@brnrd:
#4) Aha. That's exactly what I wanted to point out, but still: which of the many Rival frames currently pictured on mibo.cz one is it then?
We will know this very soon, I hope. I have ordered one and already paid. If Rival is on Mibo stock and needs not to be produced first, you will get photographs soon and you can even take a ride with the Rival!

@Pavel: I can imagine your dilemma with German dealers. For a German customer it is very painfull to buy at a German webshop. The informations provided there are often totally wrong and the photographs are as old as the internet. And the dealers themselves a the phone, it often seems as they would have absolutely no riding experience on a scooter! Bad Buy!

You should at least provide your dealers with accurate infos and valid photos and even use force that they will update their webshops!

Another point is your own homepage. There are not so much infos given there as well. Why not give 25 big photos per scooter? What is the problem? The photos do not even have to be made by a professional. This will cost you exactly nothing.
And you could make English Version of your homepage for international buyers. Also no problem, I think.

Different prices for different markets are to be found everywhere with almost every product on this planet. Also there are same products with different specs / components on different markets everywhere to be found.

This is not a problem of Mibo alone. And Mibo is only a very very small company with 1500 scooters produced a year.

Please do not forget this! Mibo cannot solve that problem! Mibo will not solve that problem. You may not wait for any solutions of that problem. Apple will not give you a solution, neither will Mibo do.

As a customer you only can look at differnt models and different prices on different markets. And then choose where to buy and what to buy.

I think as a reaction on critics to different prices for same models with same components on different markets Mibo is now going to offer models with different components for each market.

This is the right of Mibo to do so! They are free to offer what they want. Mibo is a company. First thought of a company must be survival of the company! Second thought must be profit. Third thought can be happyness of custumers.

On the other hand Mibo must stay trustworthy. Not offer German market Razek racing scooters with inferior inner tubes from Noname that will explode like a chewing gum bubble when inflated to 2/3 of the maximum pressure of tire. And not use poor bowden cables and Kenda tires or Kenda or Noname inner tubes on TOP Versions for German market. Poor Top Version!

There a some sportlers that buy a Mibo scooter and then strip it down to fork and frame and dump the rest. For these people a frameset offer would be very helpfull. But it is a problem of prices. Perhaps you cannot sell frameset for reasonable prices without killing your profit. I do not know. These are decisions of the Mibo company.

It is a fine thing that Mibo is now talking to us and will listen to the voice of its customers. And I will be very exited to see some improvement on the scooters that has been asked for here in this forum! (Or by myself).
And Mibo now has the chance to pull profit from Kostkas suicide decision with the small hubs. You will have to work hard and always improve.

Thank you for your feedback.
Photos on the web page: It is our presentation, we have to make it proffesional way. You can follow us on facebook, there are tons of fans photos or photos from daily basis. Now, we made new web pages. I apologies, we made to work Czech version, which we are quite happy with. I was planning to run english version properly before season, but becuase we decided to put Royal on the market, I did not have enough time. I know for customer it is not excuse, but I will work hard during off season to get everything right. For myself, I was focusing last half year to stabilize Czech market, which seems to be succesful /wider range of colours, etc/.
Now, I will focus fully to our export activities, thats the promiss.

I want to point out this: MIBO has the freedom to do anything in the world. We are family business, we dont need to make milions, increase production, be market leader etc. We are satisfied at the moment with our economic results, we dont need to raise prices. we make Hand Made Products. I am fully commited to best frame quality, now I will start focusing for better parts and designs. This will not automaticaly lead to increasing prices, we do care for scootering itself, thats why we participated on Etapak this year without any advertising. We did not do this for glory of MIBO, but for scootering sake. Anyone who follows my steps confirms, that this is not marketing bullshit. We love what we doing, even if it is not leading to huge profits. Another example, yes, we did change specs in Czech market from Deore back to Alivio. But we offered our customers bottle holder. Yes, this is not righ replacement, but on the other hand, if we care just for the money, we would not put it there. We dont rise prices without reason, if we do, there is always something better /kickstand, Deore/. We care to do things right, thats the reason I am happy to find this forum and people, who using our scooters everyday. Now, specifically, I did discuss holes in the fork for lagguage holder, I did discuss better grips for handlebars with the others. And these two things will go through in next model specs /holes for Geroy, grips possibly to everything/. Today I ordered a lot of sets of grips. We will test them properly. My view is, that we will put to specs only grips, more expensive, better quality, because there is so much horns to choose from, that these will not be in series, because everyone has got different preferences.

Shortly to the frames. There is impossible to recognise idiots. I do not mind to sell only frames for ok price, but we are very worried about MIBO brand. If someone who buy a frame will put for example Tektro brakes on it, another people will see it as MIBO product, not as a custom build - thats my big worries, I dont know how to handle this. We do not allow anyone except Vasek Pechr to do custom build. I do know Vasek Pechr very well, and his skills and encyclopedic knowledge is exclusive. Anything he builds make a sense.

26
Hello,
mibospace hat geschrieben:.... another people will see it as MIBO product, not as a custom build - thats my big worries, I dont know how to handle this....
my opinion: That´s imho a marketing problem: Another labelling (or Brand) on the frame, something like for example "Custom Scooter - Frame by MIBO" might solve this problem.

27
Framesets:

Another labeling is a vey good idea. You will not be able to prevent custom builds done by idiots. People tinker on cars and other items as well. I do not think this is a problem.

A scooterist will know when he sees a custom or custom idiot build. Roll out your frame sets in an other color than complete scooters and that should be clear enough to prevent wrong conclusions.

What I am asked is: They say: The components are from bicycle. Have you (me, myself) made the frame at your own? One cannot buy this? They are astonished to hear that these are frames from a little company.

I think that your frame quality is very high. I am very pleased with your frames. Frame and fork, this counts.

Now, specifically, I did discuss holes in the fork for lagguage holder, I did discuss better grips for handlebars with the others. And these two things will go through in next model specs /holes for Geroy, grips possibly to everything/.
You will make Mibo lots of new friends with this! I am happy to read this! It is not common that companies listen to their customers. Your main advertisement can only be recommendation and to get this you need to listen.

Photos on the web page: It is our presentation, we have to make it proffesional way. You can follow us on facebook, there are tons of fans photos or photos
Sorry Pavel, I do not think this is true. There are photos on facebook. But not tons of photos showing every scooter from every angle. And these photos have to be found first.

And your homepage is not that professional that you believe. Brnrd has already told you that but you missed it. I will show you. Months ago we were on the discussion about the Mibo Rival. We spent hours with guessing on photos.
Rival Plain
You give your customers only 4 poor photos. Two photos showing a black Mibo Rival Plain and two photos showing a yellow Mibo Rival Plain. But these are not the same Mibo Rivals except the color: The black Rival does have cantilever sockets in the rear for mounting rear breaks while the yellow Mibo Rival does not have these cantilever sockets. Furthermore, you can order only a black and a white Mibo Rival Plain. Not the yellow one. What will customer get if he orders a Mibo Rival Plain? This ain't no quiz on television. This is not the professional way.

It is the same problem that can be found on the shops of your dealers: Old photos. An missing specs like you give them here:

Oh, yes, of course, I see your points. I am living in our web pages everyday, that I am forgeting my tasks and mistakes I am doing.
Web pages: Not an excuse, just explanation. I was focusing for main models, specials are wrong, you are very right. I have to let guys assemble Specials and make proper photo. Thing is, that special models are sold in small amounts, they are not so important for us, that why we used old photos. Sorry for that.
Now, every angle. I recently ordered special technique to be add to our web pages, 3D models of our scooters. Every model will be shot from 360 photos, so finaly we will have complete picture in hires in 3D.

There is only 2 months lef from this season. Once off season will kick in, main main job will be to finish presentatios and focus to foreing markets.

29
It's the nature of the beast that you will need some time to fix all the wishes. Take you time!

At this point I would like to ask another technical question: It is on the Mibo wheels.

The Novatec hubs are with no doubt of good quality. There are no issues.

The rims are of good and practical to use quality as well. But these are singlewall rims. Such simple rims you can hardly buy over here in Germany. Only the cheapest non-quality bikes are equipped with single wall rims. I still use your single wall rims in winter training and have made thousands of kilometers with them. They are not bad. Bad they will make bad impression. There are people who have absolutly no knowledge on bikes, but such people know that single wall rims are of cheap quality. The rims will be the first thing where they put the eyes on if they see a scooter. They will be disappointed, I fear.

My question is whether there is any hope to enjoy good doublewall rims on your Mibos?

This is all extra money we have to spend. Please let your Mibo's come with good-looking doublewall rims. Need not to be the same that your competitor uses!

Thank you for your question. Rims. Here is the story: We are able to make double chamber rims. As you propably know, we buing hubs, spokes and rims separately and making our own wheels. One chamber rims are good, but as you mentioned, desing poit of view is not good. So last week we bought rim machine. We were able to make double chamber rims in hands, but it take three times more time the one chamber rims. So this machine will help usspped up process. Now, I totaly agree, that wheels makes a car. So next year we will put stickers and have double chamber rims on top specs.

32
What's going on here?

Had expected you tell me: Yeah man, good idea with the rims, but not possible bla bla.

But you answer: Yeah man, have bought machine. We will do it, your next scooter walks on doublewalls...

Now I really have to think about next wishes to ask!

When we talk about the wheels, the Problem is not the Hub, the biggest Problem are the Spokes!!! They are to long!
Could you please explain this a little more? What do you find under the rim tape? I have never removed a Mibo rim tape.

Translation Notice: This will be transated later. Please be patient.

She has a problem with her wheels.
The spokes are too long. They stick out from the spoke nippels into the interior of the rim and spike into the inner tube. After 50km there is a hole in the inner tube, it gets punctured. The rim tape cannot prevent this.

She askes me if I have similar problems and I answer: No. Everything ok with my wheels.

I would ask how many mm the spokes are too long?
And if she has tried out Schwalbe Super HP rim Tape?
And if problem is on both wheels or only on one?
And did the wheels come with a Geroy? How old is that Geroy?

Please answer, Ich stehe lieber.

Bitte antworte:
Wieviel sind die Speichen zu lang?
Hast du Schwalbe Super HP Felgenband probiert?
Ist das Problem auf beiden Rädern?
Sind das Geroy-Räder? Wie alt ist der Roller?

mibospace hat geschrieben:Thank you for questions. If there is problem in any component in general, we will be more than happy to replace it for free.
I can confirm that! :)

For me the Geroy is the best travel scooter and i like my "Greta" very mutch, but this love had great difficulty. :traurig:

Please excuse Pavel, but now it is hard for you.
The front fork from my Geroy was not straight, this was replaced by Mibo very fast and without problems. - Thanks for that! But the rear end was the same. Unfortunately I could not replace the frame because my vacation was imminent. With the double dropouts we have the problem can reduce something.
The rear wheel is not being worked on loving. I got two Geroys and one Crazy in the summer of 2014.
Both rear wheels of the Geroys is the same problem. (I think, Manuel has the same problem.) The front wheel ist ok.
At the Crazy the stem was crooked. I have changed the stem from Crazy with the stem from my Geroy. So all was well again.

Excuse me Pavel for these harsh words, but I think you will soon build the best scooter on the market. :giveme5:
:wow: :heul2:

Pavel, thank you for your interest here in the forum! You are so far the only one of a scooter manufacturer, who personally cares about the improvement of scooters! :daumen:

Martina,
thank you for your comment. I wish we could improve faster. We are hand made scooter maker, with all benefits and disadvantages. I will send you PM on facebook, I am courious how old was these frames on the first place. As for the end of last year, we used different frame supplier to help us out, before we made decision to make frames completely on our own. Not excuse for us, I am sorry for the trouble. I dont know about any wheel issues, however I realise benefits of dual chambers very well, we are working on it.
Sometimes scooters suffer a lot during transport. We made new boxes regarding these issues.

42
Footzila is nice scooter, I dont have a problem to post it to MIBO thread as well :) And if you buy one from Kolobezky pro dospele, you get origin certificate, where is stated, that we participated on developing of this scooter.
And the message was, that famous persons kicking too these days :)

Today I was happy to receive my new Mibo Rival. As you can see on the first photo, it is intended for stunts and tricks.
For this it has to be strong!

In the next days I will update the Mibo Rival thread over here: http://forum.runnersworld.de/forum/tech ... ncrew.html

Many photos and infos are to come!

For now I will ask Pavel on the specs.
I measured:
Hight of handlebar 68cm-69cm at the outer edge.
Floor height: 4cm.

I am a bit disappointed. Mibo says specs are as follows:

https://translate.google.de/translate?h ... ival-plain
Freestyle model for Tricks
  • Designed for acrobatic tricks and jumping in the skatepark.
  • Parameters: length 113 cm, handlebar height 75 cm, weight 7.5 kg, floor height 5 cm, round 12 1/2 ", 150 kg load capacity, warranty on frame 5 years.
  • Equipment: Special Flop freestyle frame, wheels Profi/32 - bearing Novatec hubs, tires Schwalbe Schwalbe Road Cruiser, stem Zoom, A-head control, downhill handlebars, grips Gel.
  • Warranty: 5 years
  • Capacity: 150 kg
Hight of handlebar 75cm.
Floor height: 5cm.

It is a problem to me, to have a ride on my Rival. There are at least 6 crucial centimeters in handlebar height missing.
I was planing to work with 75cm handlebar height and perhaps rise the handlebar for some cm with replacement parts I already own. Now this is not possible. I do not know how to ride on my Mibo Rival. It does not meet its specs and it is to low for me.

What can I do now?
Is it possible to get a longer fork?
(If possible to get this fork, it would be great to get it 16cm longer, and not only 6cm).
Why not offer a long replacement fork that every rider can cut down to his own size to fullfill his needs?

The floor height is 1cm to low. This might be the difference between permanently bottom up and not bottom up. I will ignore this issue.

Thank you for your help!

44
Sorry for misleadig information, I will have look on that.
However, to perform the tricks, you need your handlebars as low as possible. If you want your handlebars higher, I would choose BMX handlebars.

46
Yo, Pavel. You gotta present UNRIVALED FORK to your customers. UNRIVALED FORK is 20cm longer than RIVAL fork.
UNRIVALED FORK will open up streetstyle to RIVAL riders and bring them away from skateparks into real life.
What shall we do with TINY? Bah! We meet together with UNRIVALED RIVAL in the heart of the city!

Get me a UNRIVALED FORK and I will show you what's going on! Maybe an expert jumper will go for low handlebars. The beginner won't. The beginner want's to reach skatepark at his own force with UNRIVALED RIVAL and than decide to do some stunts or not.

Mibo shall not offer scooters! This is not enough! We need a Mibo SCOOTING SYSTEM where different parts fit together!
You sell a RIVAL (with correct specs on your HP) and then the buyer will do the additional purchase of UNRIVALED FORK. $$$.
You sold two for one!

Besides that, I confided on the 75cm spec. I got my Master handlebar with a 10cm rise and together with some adapter I could have used Master handlebar and Rival stem to go to some 85cm in height. This would have been ok for almost no costs.

Missing the 6cm this will not work no more. Now I can only rely on BMX parts. They are not only heavy, they are expensive as well. And I own none. I will need new stem and new 8'' handlebar with 22,2mm. This will be no less than 100€.

This is all caused by your bad information. Is the RIVAL page the only place with bad information on your homepage? I doubt. In the consequence your buyer cannot believe you anything! Wrong photos, wrong specs. Better would it be with no photos an no text, empty white page.

Sorry Pavel, these are harsh words. But bad information makes run away buyers.

At last: How about my desired UNRIVALED FORK? How much $$$?

This fork is the same than Rival fork. It has a steer tube which is 20cm longer than steer tube of Rival fork. It comes with same headset that Rival has. You might scoot to skatepark with UNRIVALED FORK assembled and then take Rival Fork out of your backpack and interchange both and than go for tricks.
Spacer and ahead cramp need not to be included in your offer.

Thank you for your comments. I do appreciate them. The problem is:
What you wrote it does make sense. But it does make sense for you, doesnt have to make sense for other 95 % of users. Rivals are not our key model, never was and never will be unless we will put thousands of EUR into right promo.
It is the same with parts, we are not so strong enough financialy to make configurator, where you have from every part 5 colours and 5 different shapes. And then customer will come and ask for gold colour, which will be the only one we will not have in stock. AND we can not teach our dealer in this matter how to service everything together.
Now i understand your confusion regarding specs, I am sorry for that again, I will look into them, but not earlier then off season.

I tried to explain before, that I did not catch english version before season. I wrote that special models are wrong and we will fix it.
