Thank you for contacting Garmin International.
The PLT_LINEARSCALE.HPP error with the Training Center program is due to the application not being able to locate or read the source file for the application. Some of the main causes are:
1. The Training Center application needs to be updated.
2. If this happened during a transfer to or from the unit, the unit software may need to be updated: FYI; updating the unit software may erase or delete the stored data on the unit, if you are unable to download the data to the Training Center program even after updating it, then download the data at
MotionBased | Home so you do not lose the data.
3. Some of the data in the source files are corrupt and are not allowing the Training Center application to retrieve the data or read it correctly. These files are typically located at the following address:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Training Center. In this location you will see a numeric file folder for each user profile, within the folder you will see a .bin file for the different data; i.e. CourseTree, HistoryTree, UserProfile, and WorkoutTree. One or more of these files may have been corrupted, if after updating the unit software and the Training Center application itself, the error continues or if it changes, you may want to create a new folder on the C: drive. You can name it something like (TC Backup files), then copy the all the files into this new folder, then delete the files from the address given above. Now try to open and use Training Center again, if it is now working correctly after re-establishing connection again as a new first time user, then you can place the files back in the original folder one at a time testing Training Center after each one to determine which one is bad.
For Windows OS XP:
1. Go to My Computer.
2. Open the C: drive.
3. Go to Documents and Settings.
4. Go to All Users.
5. Go to Application Data.
6. Go to GARMIN.
7. Now you will see a file named Training Center.
8. In this folder you should see at least one file that is numeric and has the extension of .bin.
9. You can delete the file(s) located here, you can also copy them to another location first if you want to avoid any possible loss of data.
10. Once the .bin file(s) have been deleted, restart the Training Center program.
11. You should receive the message (since this is your first time using the Training Center program, you must first connect your GPS unit).
12. Once you click OK, you may be asked for a user name, or the program will open up.
13. Once the Training Center program opens and you connect the unit, the
(user.bin) file(s) that were deleted should be re-created by Training Center. This will normally re-create the folder with no loss of data. In the event that the data is lost, if you copied the files first, you can copy them back in.
For Windows OS Vista: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Training Center
1. Go to Computer.
2. Open the C: drive.
3. Go to ProgramData, you may need to set the view to show hidden files and folders.
A. To do this if you do not see the folder for ProgramData.
B. Click on the ORGANIZE menu.
C. Go to Folder and Search Options.
D. Click on the tab for VIEW.
E. No select the radial bullet point for (Show Hidden Files and Folders).
F. Now click on APPLY and then OK.
G. Now you should see the entry for ProgramData.
4. Open the ProgramData folder.
5. Open the Garmin folder.
6. Open the Training Center folder and follow steps 8-13 above.
Ich habe TC deinstalliert und auch (bei mir in Vista) das Verzeichnis C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Training Center noch manuell gelöscht - danach Neuinstallation und alles haute wieder hin....
Hoffe die Inofs helfen
